Help found a dog and it has no microchip

We found this dog running through our apartment complex and seemed to be looking for help. We were able to grab her and take her to a vet to scan for a microchip. She unfortunately doesn’t have one. We can’t keep her, we have a cat and are in a tiny one bedroom apartment and my husband has fear of dogs. We have her currently out on our patio. Can anyone take her? I don’t want her to end up at a shelter and possibly being put down. Update: I will leave this post up incase her family stumbles upon it but a neighbor has taken her in so she has a place to stay.
