Found Small Dog in Far North Dallas Off Of Preston Road - Between Preston Oaks and Beltline

Searching Lost Dallas May 13, 2026
I found a very small dog tonight while walking my dog. This dog is older, with a white face and white hairs throughout the fur. The dog cannot walk and is emaciated. But it does have a cat collar on it with a little bell. The dog was wet and found near the creek. Unfortunately, I do not know its sex, but I think it is a female. Though it was standing, this dog cannot walk, nails are overgrown and weighs almost nothing. Since it has a collar, the dog may have gotten lost. It is shaking. So far, it will not eat or drink. I will be taking it to a shelter in the morning but if someone owns this little dog, I would like them to be reunited. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. This is the first time I have found a dog that didn't have a tag or some way of identification. UPDATE: Good News. I posted on many pet lost and found portals last night and this morning, I got a message. The person sent me a photo of the dog wearing the same, distinct collar. However, the dog was much younger in the photos. The dog is her sisters and her aunt was watching the dog since the sister is in the hospital. The dog is 16 years old, which I knew the dog was old, just had no clue how old. They lost the dog yesterday, about a half a mile away from my place. They know the dog is emaciated, explaining it is due to a mouth issue that the dog is on medication for treatment. Hopefully, we will meet at their vet today, have the dog scanned and then transfer the dog back to the owners. Thanks for all of the advice on here, I appreciate it. :)
