Lost cats after 4th of July fire

Searching Lost Seattle May 13, 2026
Hi everyone, I'm on a study abroad trip and my friend/classmate/roommate found out that while we're away her house caught fire, likely from an errant firework early this morning. Right now, the most important thing for her is her cats. Everything else is replaceable. Her nearest cross-street is 16th and Swift in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Please keep an eye out for these kitties and contact our friend Willow (who has been stopping by to look after Katara and Jeallybean) at +1 (919) 749-8547 if you see them. Katara has been spotted by a neighbor, but Jeallybean is still unaccounted for, though she may still be inside -- the fire department isn't allowing anyone on the second floor due to structural damage, but it's entirely possible she's hiding somewhere up there. The fire department told Willow that the city has programs to try to capture and return pets lost from situations like this, so they are on the lookout for these two cats, as well. I don't have much more information than what's posted here and what's on the flier. As I said we are out of the country at the moment with internet access limited to WiFi availability, but if you see either of these cats please contact Willow! Thank you in advance for your attention.
