Looking for a Good Home for a Sweet Adult Male Cat, Miles

Searching Found Washington May 13, 2026
Looking to Rehome Miles Miles loves people, including guests and kids. He’ll be your bud. He greets us and visitors at the door instead of hiding, and he’s curious about anything new that comes into the house. He likes warmth and being close. If you sit down, there’s a good chance he’ll end up on your lap or nearby. He enjoys being pet and held. He’s playful. He’ll squeeze into cardboard boxes that are clearly too small and likes wand toys. He moves around the house to follow the sun. In winter, I put a heating pad on the window sill so he can watch what’s happening outside. In summer, I put him on a leash and he hangs out on the stoop for fresh air and people-watching. I’ve tried walking him, but he mostly just wants to eat the grass. Ideal Home Miles would do best with someone who wants a cat around and enjoys his company. He's independent but also loves cuddles and does well with people who appreciate his affection. Other Pets He’s been around my sister’s dog when she visits. He gets tense at first, and loosens up throughout the week. Unfortunately the introduction phase restarts each time the dog comes. He’d likely do best as the only pet. If another animal was in the home I think it could take him up to a month to fully be himself. Health & Background I found Miles as a kitten on the street, and he’s lived in our DC home his entire life. He’s 13 years old. He’s up to date on vaccines and has had regular wellness exams throughout his life. He had a skin/coat issue years ago that resolved after a food change and hasn’t returned. He has no apparent health issues. Normal litter box activity (we use an automatic one). I’ve clipped his nails since he was a kitten so he’s very comfortable with having that done. Cat Habits He’s not very accustomed to houseplants
