Dog found (Charles Village / Abell)

Saw this dog just now outside in the alley in Charles Village area. No tags, no collar. Just posting here to see if anyone knows this mysterious character's story. Was sniffing around the trash and came right up to give me a sniff, then wandered off, coming back around the block at least one more time. Wish I could have helped but by the time I got some water, the pooch was gone.
