Missing pets mystery pt.2
Hey guys, it's the friendly temp homeless guy with a second and final part in response to the post I saw in South Reno/Damonte area on NextDoor about people wondering why so many pets are going missing. I came across a post about a Bobcat sighting (picture included) here in Reno. Along with coyote, bobcats are also known to hunt house cats and smaller prey. They also will attack a person if you corner or threaten them, although rare, it's still a thing to be cautious about. As friend shaped as they look, they are murder kittens and can cause serious injury. Again, if you have cats that like to roam the neighborhoods, please keep close eyes on them. Same goes for anyone with chickens and small livestock that are vulnerable. It's winter time, these animals, along with the coyote I mentioned are opportunistic hunters and push into the suburbs during months when food sources become more scarce. Bobcats also hunt both during the day but are mostly nocturnal. Keep an eye on your pets, leash your dogs on walks, carry protection. A doctor commented on my last post having witnessed a savage attack recently on someone's poor dog by a coyote pack and had to take the body to the owners address on it's tags. Just want everyone to be aware and informed that this is a time these animals push closer for food sources, and highly likely the cause of an increase in missing pets. Stay safe everyone, and Merry Christmas 🌲
