Found Dog - Running out of places to call for placement help

Searching Lost Chattanooga May 13, 2026
I hate to do this here, but I need help finding a spot for this dog asap. TLDR: Called a bunch of places, no one has answered. Can only keep her here a couple more days. Foster or home is needed asap for a sweet, calm dog. Our neighbors called us last night looking for a place to keep a found dog until we can find a foster since it was a Sunday night and obviously no one was open. She had been roaming for a while, had a foster set up, then said foster dropped her in a neighbors yard at midnight on Saturday. With aggressive dogs around the area, she needed a place immediately so she’s been passed around and ended up with me last night (Sunday). She has clearly been spayed recently, but has no chip, no ID, no one claiming her on Facebook, nothing. She’s incredibly sweet, very calm, hasn’t shown interest in toys, and has only jumped on me a couple times when I asked her to so I could look at her belly. She walks well on a leash but does tend to criss cross making her a slight tripping hazard lol. Look, I know you’re thinking “she sounds great, keep her!” But I genuinely can’t as much as I wish I could. We live on Dayton Blvd with no fence. My cat has such high anxiety that he pees blood when he’s stressed out and he just lost his sister to old age. He’s got enough going on. We only have a crate for her to stay in or to leash her to the stair rail outside. It’s heartbreaking to do either one for long hours. If I had a fence, she would be mine already. I have called/texted/emailed/visited...
