Purrana has been missing from Kettering for 3 weeks! We are *desperate* to find him. 💔

Searching Lost Dayton May 13, 2026
We are desperate to find Purrana. Our beloved, chunky boy has been missing for 3 weeks. 😓 This post is a plea for anyone in the area to keep your eyes out for Purrana, and spread the word, but also some much needed venting, because the last 3 weeks have been so emotional. Purrana slipped out his front door unnoticed on Monday, October 13th, at around 9pm on Grayson Street at the intersection of Primrose 45429, Kettering. The neighborhood is behind Stroop Road Kroger. He has never done this before. He was built for the life of a spoiled couch potato, not for survival outdoors, especially as winter encroaches. He is an indoor cat and has been for the 14 years we have had him in our family. My coworkers and I rescued him and two of his sisters (Purrocious & Purrcilla) from a cat hoarder on Wayne Avenue when they were 8 weeks old. We had witnessed 2 kittens get hit on Wayne Avenue. We pulled over immediately to find the remaining kittens and remove them from the cat hoarder's "care." We fostered Purrana's sisters through the Humane Society and they were quickly adopted, but we couldn't part with Purrana. He lived at the pet grooming salon we worked at for a few years and was perfect for that job. He loved the dogs, cats, and people he met every day. Absolutely nothing phased him. When we moved salons, my brother, who had always adored Purrana, took Purrana because we were concerned about his safety due to heavy traffic at the new location. He has lived with my brother since. He is such a docile, truly sweet cat. He has my brother hold him like a baby. He is the perfect companion to watch shows with or play video games with. He is my brother's constant companion and he is beside himself at the loss. We have had humane trap setups at both locations where he has been sighted,
