Looking for Help with an Abandoned Dog

Looking for assistance. We are driving back to Jacksonville from a funeral in Hattiesburg, MS, and we found an abandoned dog in the median of the highway in the middle of nowhere. We've called all the local shelters, and they're either full or willing to set up a surrender appointment in a couple of weeks. We can't afford to take in a dog right now. She's about 15lbs, no collar or microchip, somewhat emaciated, and very friendly. My wife has medical appointments in Jacksonville tomorrow that can't be missed, so we have to head home today. Does anyone know of a shelter or rescue between Mobile, AL and Jacksonville, FL that could take her?
