Journey is almost ready for his next step!

Searching Tampa May 22, 2026
Journey is about 9 weeks old. He's a small boy who may catch up and grow normally but he may be small, even as an adult. He's all healed up and almost ready for his new home! His history is a bit sad, but I hope to find him an amazing home, preferably with another cat (or multiple cats) who would be accepting of a new playmate. He may have some special dietary needs but I haven't been able to pin them down quite yet. Upon intake to The Pet Resource Center, he was separated from his siblings to help give him individual attention for recovery. They diagnosed him with a soft tissue injury and was given pain meds and recommended cage rest. However, it was much more than that. After getting him settled and evaluating his mobility, I found that he was born with contracted tendons in his front-right paw causing him to use that limb in an abnormal way which in turn was causing muscle spasms. As a result, he had been biting at his arm, causing a wound. While I helped him start his recovery with massage, stretches, and some exercise, Journey wanted to use his paw and he really did most of the work! Within just a few weeks he was using his paw pads to walk instead of gliding along on his wrist. A month later, he started running and jumping normally! Though he is small, he's fast and enjoys having someone to hang out with him. He's also a bit of a connoisseur and has stolen some French fries, which he really enjoyed before I caught him! If you might have just a bit of space in your home and heart for Journey, please feel free to reach out! submitted by [comments]
